Creating a Routine Car Maintenance Schedule
Most people rely on their cars every single day, which means a breakdown would be a serious inconvenience. In order to prevent this from happening, your car must be properly and regularly maintained.
There are certain benchmarks your car will reach in terms of mileage; different maintenance services will be appropriate at these benchmarks. Your oil and oil filter should be changed every 3,000 to 7,000 miles, at which point your fluids, tires, and lights should be inspected as well. Every 15,000 to 30,000 miles you should replace your air filter, check your battery, and replace your power steering fluid and filters. Inspect your battery at 35,000 miles and your spark plugs at 40,000 miles. After 60,000 miles you should replace your timing belt, coolant, brake pads, and brake fluid, as well as check your HVAC system and suspension.
